Concerts in the Old Courts, films exploring the darkest depths of imagination, live jazz and celebrity talks are just some of the events in the April/May/June Art After Hours programme: 5 - 9pm Wednesdays at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. With these events, as well as exhibitions and the caf� being open, Wednesday evenings at the Gallery provide an excellent after-five venue for entertainment and art. Please see below for the programme outline.

FREE CONCERTS IN THE OLD COURTS  6.30 - 7pm
Different orchestral sets will present half-hour concerts in the magical Old Courts of the Gallery. The Archibald-inspired series titled Portrait of the Musician as an Artist will be performed by members of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and run every week until 4 June.

June 11 Andrew Denton, host of ABC TV's "Enough Rope" with Edmund Capon, Director of AGNSW - Our Insane Inner World.
June 18 Geraldine Doogue, presenter of "Life Matters", ABC Radio National and ABC TV's "Compass" speaks on Reflecting on our Changing Cultural Landscape.
June 25 Michael Reid, Art Market Columnist for "The Australian" presents In the Mind of the Collector.
July 2 Sen. Aden Ridgeway, Australian Democrats Senator, presents Aboriginal Art: Cultural Copyright, for NAIDOC week.

FREE JAZZ IN THE GALLERY CAFE  7.30 - 8.30pm
Talented jazz trios from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

FREE FILMS  7.15pm
Robert Herbert's May/June surrealist film series titled Hideous Beauty, incudes a  rare mix of films exploring central themes from the darkest depths of the imagination, in line with the exhibition James Gleeson: Drawings for Paintings.

ART APPRECIATION LECTURE SERIES  6pm
