Art Gallery of New South Wales 25 March to 28 May 2006 Winner announced Friday 24 March at 12noon (media only) Now in its fourth year, the Photographic Portrait Prize - a Citigroup Award attracts entries from around Australia. As with the Archibald Prize, the subjects are wide-ranging, often revealing an intimate insight into people in their everyday life, or the side of a celebrity not seen before. The annual exhibition of finalists selected for the Photographic Portrait Prize is on view at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in conjunction with the 2006 Archibald Prize, from 25 March to 28 May. The winner receives $20 000 acquisitive. The Photographic Portrait Prize is open to photographers who are residents of Australia. All still photo-based art is considered, including all types of analogue and digital photography. The judges for the 2006 Prize are Edmund Capon, director of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Lindy Lee and Rosemary Laing.
