FREE UPCOMING EVENTS AT THE GALLERY
This month's program of events is inspired by the Sidney Nolan exhibition. Celebrity Talks are a major highlight with performances and talks by Warren Fahey, Libbi Gorr and Stuart Purves. Enjoy live music in the ArtBar with the Australian Army Band, and choose from an extensive series of specialist exhibition talks exploring the Sidney Nolan, One Sun One Moon and August Sander exhibitions, as well as the Asian collection.

7 Nov. Warren Fahey, folklore collector, prolific author, broadcaster and performer, with Marcus Holden (violin and mandolin) Garry Steel (accordion), Australian bush songs and rare bushranger ballads
14 Nov. Libbi Gorr, comedian, broadcaster and TV presenter, Nolan, Ned and Naughty
21 Nov. Paul Kelly, musician, via video presentation, presents his thoughts on Nolan and introduces his new film clip

Westerns: Outlaws and Outsiders
Like Nolan’s paintings, Westerns often depict the discordance of the land, people, history and mythology. This upcoming series of outstanding Westerns demonstrates a gothic, even surreal cinematic aesthetic – a sense of space, distance, mystery and transcendence.
