The artists first came to Australia in 1969, with the support of John Kaldor, to mount their large-scale and controversial work Wrapped Coast Little Bay. Twenty-one years later in 1990, the Art Gallery presented a major exhibition of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's oeuvre. The Gallery currently holds a number of significant works by the artists in its contemporary art collection. The artists will discuss Over the river: Project for the Arkansas River, Colorado, and The Mastaba, Project for the United Arab Emirates.
