Tara is the deeply loved goddess of unconditional compassion. She lovingly helps her devotees navigate the turbulent waters of life and guides them towards the shores of safety.Understanding the Tara symbols |
She commits herself to protectively watching over beings and unquestioningly frees them from afflictions. Her compassionate powers ensure longevity, freedom and peace. According to a popular myth, Tara was born out of the tears shed by the great Lord of Compassion, when he witnessed the unending suffering of living beings. The merciful tears formed a lake upon which blossomed a lotus revealing the beautiful, benevolent Tara. Consoling the Lord of Compassion, Tara vowed to tirelessly deliver the world from misery. |
