Drawings are catalogued according to sketchbook and page number. Blank or unused pages are not referred to.
Loose drawings, or pages removed from sketchbooks by the artist, are catalogued according to their original page order. Those known to be in other public and private collections, are also included and listed according to their original page number.
All sketchbooks are from the artist's estate, gifts to the Art Gallery of New South Wales from the artist's son and daughter-in-law between 1995 and 2001.
There are 19 sketchbooks in total. Sketchbooks 1 - 4 are available now; others are in preparation.
