Willy Lott's Cottage pencil, carbon pencil inscribed in carbon pencil 'WILLIE LOTS COTTAGE' lower left illustrated: Free Rees 1972 (D 198a) Rees made an excursion into the region where the great British artist, John Constable (1776-1837) lived and worked. He visited Flatford Mill, Bergholt and Dedham. Willy Lott's cottage by the Stour River in Suffolk was the subject of numerous works by Constable, the most famous of which is The Hay-Wain.
