This symposium will survey key issues of Preston’s
extraordinary output and her exceptional place in Australian art
history. It will explore Preston’s enigmatic and ambiguous
persona, her relationships with her colleagues, and uncover her
technical innovations and methods.
Featuring keynote speaker, Ron Radford, Director
National Gallery of Australia; exhibition curators Deborah Edwards,
Snr. Curator of Australian Art and Rose Peel, Snr. Conservator;
Catriona Moore, Lecturer University of Sydney; Humphrey McQueen,
author, Hetti Perkins, Snr. Curator of Aboriginal art and Mary Eagle,
curator and art historian.
