Classic contemporary
Engage with classical and contemporary Indigenous art practice through key works from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collection. Identify styles, themes and relationships in artworks that make up the diverse network that is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.
1 hour • $127.50 per group of 15 or less

Living Landscape
Connect to the country and art practice of different Indigenous artists through key works in the collection. Focus on the styles, material practice and themes of work from different regions such as Arnhem Land, the Kimberley, the Western Desert and the city.

Tradition Today
Investigate current issues and ideas in Indigenous art practice. Focus on artists who, working within ancient traditions, create work that is innovative, experimental and fresh and which responds to changing historical and social circumstances.

7-12 Teachers' Enrichment Day and Education Kit Launch
Country Culture Community
An intensive and inspiring day focusing on key issues and ideas related to Indigenous art to launch Country, Culture, Community, the new Education Kit for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collection. Engage with contemporary art practice through presentations by teachers, artists and gallery professionals to stimulate ideas, classroom strategies and provide resources.

K-6 Art adventure tour
Journeys through country
Encounter the diverse worlds of Indigenous art. Meet mimihs and yawkyawks, sharks and snakes, in an adventure across country, from wetlands to the desert and the city, and learn about the art created in each place.

Country, Culture, Community
Spend the day engaging with Indigenous art to celebrate the launch of Country, Culture, Community, the new Education Kit for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collections. Brush up on your art appreciation and art-making skills through a range of practical hands-on workshops to develop ideas for the K-6 classroom. Indigenous artists Elaine Russell and Roy Kennedy will discuss their work with curator Jonathan Jones.
